Jessica Kirkland is the Founder of Pen N’ Paper Flowers; a creative lifestyle blog focused on inspiring others through Making + Baking + Photo-taking.  She loves charming baking books and openly admits an addiction to pretty cake plates.  She doesn’t feel complete unless the oven is on, she’s wearing an apron, she’s baking something and her cookie jar is full.  She believes in dandelion wishes, true love, happily ever-after and that attitude is everything.  She is a list-maker, goal-setter, go-getter and an absolute hopeless romantic.

Pen and paper are her jam as they are the foundation for nearly everything she creates, dreams or does — dessert table sketches, pretty invitations, hand-lettering, doodling , painting and watercolor pencils (hence the name “Pen N’ Paper”).  Jessica is a lucky mama to three beautiful girls who are the inspiration behind much of her work (and the thought behind the “Flowers” portion of her brand).

She is a designer in every sense of the word with a passion for graphic design, interior design, baking, party styling and especially designing a life and home with her family that has an organic authenticity with an heirloom quality to it.

Her love of desserts and design come together beautifully through the many styled parties and dessert tables she’s created.  In fact, much of the success and recognition Jessica has received over the past 5 years has come directly from the pretty parties she’s styled for her family and friends in addition to the sweet treats she whips up in her kitchen.

Jessica loves open prairies, old farmhouses + barns, aged hardware and old architecture.  Her heart skips a beat for porch swings, picket fences, farm fresh eggs, creamy whites and a bouquet of hand-picked wildflowers.

In a social media driven world where everything comes across as perfect, Jessica is committed to sharing a comical spin on the behind-the-scenes nitty gritty in her “Keeping It Real” section at the end of each blog post.  Her blog readers will tell you it’s one of their favorite elements of the Pen N’ Paper Flowers blog.

The demand for Jessica’s graphic designs led to her opening her Etsy shoppe where she sells printable invitations, party accessories and inspirational art prints.  She’s also recently opened a Society6 shop where her inspirational art can now be purchased as home decor items and apparel. Jessica also feeds on creating daily original inspirational quotes and art to empower women and shares them exclusively on Instagram.
