Dear Martha: you once published in your magazine a May Day Cake. It took I believe 8 eggs. I made it and it was delicious. This was back about 12 years ago. I safe most of your magazine’s but this one seemed to get away from me.

I just ordered Martha’s cake book. I’ve never been good at baking cakes so I am now on a mission to learn. My pies are great! I used to sell them! Cakes are really hard for me, specially since I moved from sea level to 5,000 ft recently. Love your site!! Thanks for the oil vs butter experiment! It gave me exactly what I wanted to know before I bake my red velvet cake for my sister’s Christmas party.
