Pleated Wedding Cake

May 12, 2014 by Carrie Sellman

We’re starting off the week with a new design that illustrates the beauty of simplicity.  Today’s feature is an elegant wedding cake that is perfectly groomed and bursting with great white-on-white details.  Pristine tiers of white shimmer softly with just a hint of lustre.  While a statement-making rose finds its home in a bed of tulle, perched at the very top.  And then there’s the fabulous bottom tier, covered in rows of vertical pleats, cascading down like rippled ribbons.  It all comes together into a design that’s perfectly tailored and totally stunning — and it comes to us from Suzanne Brady, owner of Cove Cake Design, located in Dublin, Ireland.  Let’s take a look at this gorgeous wedding cake inspiration…

Suzanne Brady of Cove Cake Design gives us the scoop on her design:

“I wanted to design a cake that reflected the elegance and beauty of a contemporary bride on her special day.  A base tier of vertical pleats is reminiscent of the volume of a bridal gown while elegance is epitomized in three upper tiers of lustred perfection, edged with a piped pearl border and satin ribbon.  The cake is topped with a romantic oversized sugar rose and casually placed bridal tulle, reflecting a classic veil.”
